The Core

Interior Remodeling and Exterior Update

Location

Appleton, Wisconsin

General Contractor

MJI Building Services

Partnering with MJI Building Services, the Architects of Martenson & Eisele provided architectural / structural design services for a completed interior remodeling and exterior update of a 30,000 square foot building located on West College Avenue in Appleton. The original building was constructed in 1972 as a Kohl’s grocery store and converted to a Senior Center in 1995.

The building has been vacant for the past three years before being purchased by 922 Ministries to house its ministry called “the Core”. The Core will use the building for a 450+ seat auditorium for worship, classrooms, offices and a community room. The new facility will feature a large, high-ceiling fellowship area with full-height glass overlooking a patio and College Avenue.
