Project Description
-
Identify wetland resources located within the area of investigation for the development of the property into a building site on the upland areas and to avoid filling of any wetlands.
-
Total Project Area is 10.7 acres and base upon results of the Delineation, there is a 1.0 acre area and a 0.14 acre area of wetlands.
M&E Delineation Results
-
The Area of Investigation consists of approximately 90 percent uplands which is currently agricultural cropland and about 10 percent wetlands.
-
According to the soil reports, the area of investigation is comprised of poorly-drained – Poygan (Po), a well-drained – Hortonville silt loam (HrB) and a somewhat poorly drained Symco silt loam (SyA). Two additional soil types, Boyer loamy sand (BrC2) and Hortonville silt loam (HrC2) are noted in the soils report and soils map but are both well drained upland soil and are a small percentage of the AOI.
-
The Wisconsin Wetland Inventory Classification for these wetlands would be = E2Kf Emergent/wet meadow Narrowleaf persistent wet soil, Palustrine with areas currently being farmed.
-
This wetland areas appears to have developed due to the surface water runoff within the waterway that has a base flow and overtops the waterway banks when high flow events occur and causes ponding for long enough periods of time to meet the criteria for wetlands as well as the sidehill seep meets wetland criteria due to saturated conditions.
