A property owner contacts us for assistance with laying out a residential subdivision. While he knew the property would need surveying, he soon discovers our environmental engineering services will be needed to accurately identify the land that is developable, and what needs to be protected from development because of wetlands and soil conditions. The platting and rezoning of the property is a task that our planning staff handles quickly and efficiently. Our civil engineering staff designs the streets and the water and sewer systems, including storm water management. The property owner's plans for developing condominiums means our architecture staff gets involved in designing and then overseeing their construction.

A school district is experiencing a tremendous increase in students and is wondering how best to accommodate the growth. Our planning staff conducts a school enrollment study in which building trends and demographics are analyzed to determine where and how much growth the district can expect in the next five to ten years. Concepts for existing building renovations and new facility construction are explored by the school district with the assistance of our architectural department. Potential sites are evaluated for environmental constraints by our environmental engineering staff and mapped by our surveying staff. Internal and external traffic flow and storm water management issues are addressed by our civil engineers.

A community completes a comprehensive plan with the assistance of our planning staff. As the community begins work on the actions outlined in the implementation section of the comprehensive plan, it becomes clear that the relationship the local officials have developed with Martenson & Eisele will make the process go smoothly. One of the first steps is the revision of the community's zoning and land development ordinances, which is worked on together by our planning and surveying staff. The redevelopment of a brownfield site in the community is also a high priority. Our environmental engineering staff works cooperatively with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin Department of Commerce on putting together a plan that will clean up the site, making it ready for redevelopment. During the comprehensive planning process, the community discovers that one of its oldest employers is planning an expansion, and needs assistance with the relocation of utilities, streets, and a railroad spur.
