Village of Crivitz - Facility Needs Assessment and New Fire Station

Martenson & Eisele prepared a facility needs study and design for a new public safety building for the Village of Crivitz.  The project included assessing the existing conditions for the Village's Fire, Police and EMS departments as well as their future needs.  From those needs a building program and preliminary plan was developed.  Martenson & Eisele also wrote a successful grant application for $400,000 on behalf of the Village for funding assistance.  Construction on the 8,065 square foot Fire Station was completed in December of 2003 at a cost of $665,694 or $82.54 per square foot. This cost was $19,266 under our original budget estimate.

The building features four drive through vehicle bays, accessible locker and toilet facilities for both male and female fire fighters, offices for the Fire Chief and Fire Inspector, and a training room to accommodate the entire volunteer force.  The apparatus room is a pre-engineered steel building. Conventional construction was used for the remainder of the building.

Maintenance free exterior and interior finishes will minimize upkeep for the Fire Department and allow them to concentrate on their primary mission.
