Lena Elementary School, Lena WI - Addition & Remodeling

Martenson & Eisele worked closely with the Lena School District Administration and Referendum Committee during the referendum planning phase. Our work included producing budgets and designs for public informational meetings, which were instrumental in informing the voters prior to the referendum. We were also involved in the public information campaign by participating in open meetings and appearing on a local radio talk show to inform the voters. Remodeling work in this Elementary School included changing the cafeteria into three classrooms and a special education room, renovating the kitchen into a staff meeting area and additional toilet rooms for students, expanding the existing LMC and adding a mechanical room. Roof replacement was also part of the project. The addition features new school office and reception area to better monitor visitors entering the building. The addition is 900 s.f. and the remodeled area is 6,620 s.f.  The construction cost was $600,000, including site work and contingency. Jeff Schulz was the project manager and Scott Tyler handled the CAD work and construction services coordination. Construction began in June of 2003 following a successful February referendum.
