Jefferson Elementary School, Menasha WI - Addition & Remodeling

Martenson & Eisele worked closely with the Menasha Joint School District during the referendum planning phase to produce budgets and designs for public informational meetings which were instrumental in passing the referendum. Addition and Remodeling work in this Elementary School consisted of expanding the existing library and adding a two-story classroom addition for kindergarten and first grade classrooms. Martenson & Eisele was responsible for complete construction documents and a special library equipment bid phase. Careful attention to detail was critical on this 70-year-old structure so that the architectural style was preserved.  The addition is 6,190 s.f. and the remodeled area is 3,100 s.f.  The construction cost was $861,000 including site work and contingency. The project was completed $4,500 under budget and with only six change orders. This addition was started in June of 2001 and completed prior to the start of the 2002 school year.  The building was also nominated for a "Lily" award in the Fox Cities Magazine's annual "Lilies and Lakeflies" program.  Jeff Schulz served as the project architect and Scott Tyler performed the construction administration services.
